A Domain of Your Own

This workshop will take you through the steps of creating your own website through UMW Blogs that actually has a unique address, for example http://johndoe.com. It will still be hosted and supported through UMW Blogs, but gives you the additional ability to have your own name space so that you can easily design and develop a website/blog that is both portable and powerful.

To get the full experience of this workshop you may want to purchase a domain at http://godaddy.com (they run anywhere between $8-$14 per year), get a blog on UMW Blogs, and then follow these instructions for mapping the domain. During the workshop we’ll take a close look at how to customize this space to be a simple, attractive, and effective means of framing your online presence.
